Tamara de Lempicka-Art Deco Diva

By Alexandra Epps

Alexandra Epps explores the story of Tamara de Lempicka and her self-invention.  Originally an aristocratic fugitive from Russia during the Revolution, she later became an icon of the roaring twenties in Paris as she re invented herself as a successful artist. Her style was unique and it reflected the shifting morals of the age, representative of the wealthy and decadent European elite and boldly celebrated female sexuality.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Alexandra’s background is in design and she has practised as a graphic designer running her own design consultancy for many years. She is the Official Guide and lecturer at Tate Modern, Tate Britain and Guildhall Art Gallery.
