René Lalique: Master jeweller, Master Glass maker

With a lively narrative and stunning images this lecture covers the life of Rene Lalique who was born in 1860 and became one of the most important designers of the 20th century. By 1885 he had established his own workshop for designing and making beautiful, original jewellery. By 1900 he had become famous for creating glass sculptures. After establishing his own glassworks he went on to create vases, clocks, car mascots and more.

About the speaker
Eric has had over 25 years of experience lecturing to museums and galleries around the world including the V and A, The British Museum and the Art Deco Society of New York. He also lectures to antique societies in the U.K. He hosts fine art, antiques and architectural trips in the U.K. and abroad. He has broadcast for 30 years with the B.B.C’s Antiques Road show.
