COMPLETED – “After Impressionism” Exhibition – National Gallery London

At the end of March, 31 STRADFAS members travelled to the National Gallery in London to see the ‘After Impressionism’ exhibition. The exhibition charts developments in the art world following the last Impressionism exhibition in 1886. It brings together over 100 paintings and sculptures by artists such as Cezanne, Van Gogh, Rodin, Picasso, Klimt and Mondrian from the period 1886-1914. It highlights the development of centres of art across Europe including Berlin, Brussels, Vienna and Barcelona and the move towards Cubism and Fauvism. The exhibits come from a wide-range of galleries and private collections world-wide and so the exhibition offers an opportunity to see some rarely-viewed works of art. The exhibition runs until 13th August 2023 and is well worth seeing if you get the chance.
