Community Arts (Arts Volunteering)

For many years STRADFAS has been supporting and developing Arts-related activities for young people in the Stratford-upon-Avon area, and continues to do so, but with a change in emphasis, support has been spread more widely.

The Fred Winter Centre, which provides accommodation for the homeless, received a grant for an art project soon after opening and The Street Art Project used the services of a poet to encourage some of the more vulnerable members of the town to write poetry.

Koestler Arts, which encourages the therapeutic use of art in prisons, has been one of our national beneficiaries.

Art material packs were given to the Food bank at Christmas for local children, a donation was made to provide books for schools and Bereaved Children have received money for art courses.
